At Eddyline Kayaks, innovation is woven into our DNA. Over the past 49 years, we’ve not only worked to improve the performance and durability of our kayaks using thermoform technology, but we’ve also turned our attention to the inside of our kayaks. Understanding that a passion for paddling hinges on a comfortable and enjoyable experience, we’ve introduced a number of innovative features to the inside of our range of recreational kayaks, touring kayaks, sit on top kayaks, fishing kayaks and tandem kayaks. These include innovations to our seats, cockpits, and foot braces.
Designed to be adjustable and offer a custom fit, our innovative Infinity Seat is exclusive to Eddyline Kayaks. This new seat design allows the backrest and seat to move together for simpler trim and comfort adjustments. It also makes for easy removal of the seat for cleaning and maintenance. The Infinity Seat has the added benefits of having fewer parts and no welds. In short, it has less hardware but improved adjustability making it perfect for the recreational, tandem, and lightweight touring kayaks we’ve incorporated it into.
An ergonomic seat design ensures the Infinity Seat reduces fatigue and encourages proper paddling form. The seat can be adjusted forward or backward up to 3 inches. Combined with padded thigh braces this gives you a perfect fit and helps control your trim. Comfortable and supportive, the seat pad in each of our sit in kayak models will keep you going for hours!
On longer paddling trips, comfort is paramount. That’s why we’ve added a dual density foam padded backrest cushion with a pillowy feel, covered with a UV and abrasion resistant padded nylon and spandex exterior. A no-slip single hinge with 5 height positions and enhanced strength allows the backrest or backband to move with your body as you paddle. On our models with the sliding Infinity Seat, a spring-loaded hinge always returns to the upright position.
For complete comfort, we’ve incorporated hip struts into the Infinity Seat, offering contact and unparalleled support.
Our sit-on-top kayaks, fishing kayaks, and Sandpiper 130 recreational kayaks set the bar high with theComfortable Seating System. Made in America using anti-microbial marine grade foam and solar weave tech-mesh fabric, the Cloud 10 Frame seat is durable, breathable, and sun proof. Best of all, it’s foldable and removable for easy transport. It even makes a perfect beach chair for breaks on those long paddling trips.
The entire Caribbean line of Eddyline Kayaks sit-on-top kayaks come standard with the SOTComfortable Seating. Made in American using marine-grade foam and solar weave tech-mesh fabric, these seats are durable, breathable, water, and sun-proof. Perfect for long days on the water, these seats offer the most comfortable sit-on-top kayak experience.
Three cockpit configurations make our sit-in kayaks comfortable for paddlers of all sizes.
Our keyhole cockpit, which is medium sized, features padded thigh braces that are molded into the combing of the kayak. This configuration appears on our Fathom, Sitka ST, and Sitka LT touring kayaks as well as our Rio recreational kayak.
Our medium keyhole cockpits vary in size depending on the model of kayak. Each size is outlined on the individual product page.
Giving you more options for a comfortable paddling experience, with the exception of the Sitka XT touring kayak, all models with our large cockpits are available with or without padded thigh braces. As a rule of thumb, we recommend using thing braces unless they negatively impact your paddling style or reduce your leg room. The Equinox recreational kayak comes standard with thigh braces. The Skylark and Sky 10 recreational kayaks and the Whisper CL tandem kayak come standard without. All of these models can be ordered with or without them regardless of their standard configuration.
The Sitka XT touring kayak is only available with thigh braces.
Eddyline Kayaks large cockpits measure 35” by 18.5”.
Our Sandpiper and Sandpiper 130 recreational kayaks have the largest cockpits in the Eddyline Kayaks lineup. Measuring in at 48” by 22”, this cockpit comes standard with comfort knee pads.
Completing the interior of our kayaks Sea Dog performance foot braces have 10” of adjustable travel with the simple flip of a lever. Designed to be maintenance free, these foot braces are self-cleaning and incredible strong. Most importantly, they’re ergonomically designed to offer unsurpassed comfort even with bare feet. Our sit-on-top kayaks and Sky 10 recreational kayak use a low-profile version of Sea Dog foot braces that are lighter but equally as strong.
