Why has Eddyline created a new 2023 sit-on-top kayak? Sit-on-top kayaks have gained much traction and market share in the world of water sports over the last several years. Their stability for on water travel and their ease when it comes to entering and exiting make them particularly attractive to certain groups of kayakers. Those with knee injuries or those that have difficulty exiting or entering an enclosed cockpit prefer sit-on-tops. Kayak anglers also enjoy outfitting sit-on-top kayaks to their unique fishing needs and specifications.
The new Caribbean 10 is incredibly sleek. At twenty-nine inches wide, ten feet long and 40 pounds in weight, the Caribbean 10 is easy to store and transport, even fitting inside many midsize Sport Utility Vehicles. On the water, the highly efficient hull allows exceptional stability and tracking as well as superb maneuverability.
Other features include a removable cloth seat, storage hatches and webbing carry handles. The cloth seat clips into place in seconds and consists of thick antimicrobial, marine grade foam, and UV-resistant mesh fabric, giving it excellent comfort and durability. Antimicrobial properties keep the fabric fresher for longer even in rinse, repeat, wet/dry settings that may promote growth of mildew, fungus and mold.
An 8-inch bow hatch and 5.25-inch quarter-turn tankwell stern hatch provide easy storage access to most of the interior space/volume of the kayak. The cockpit features adjustable foot braces, a 6-inch accessory gear track and a self-draining seat pan.
Bow and stern webbing carry handles provide comfort for straightforward two-person or team-carry handling while perfectly balanced side carry handles make it easy for solo handling. Conveniently, the side handles also double as one-handed paddle holders. A raised seat provides good visibility and a dry ride, while four scuppers allow for effective drainage of the cockpit and tank well. A stern drain plug makes for ease of interior space drainage, if needed.
